PRINS THOMAS - Cosmo Galactic Prism

PRINS THOMAS - Prins Thomas Presents Cosmo Galactic Prism (Eskimo Belgium) Comentários: Going far beyond the space disco remit suggested by the compilation's title, this mix starts auspiciously with Joe Meek And The Blue Men's 'I Hear A New World', which has to be right up there alongside the White Noise material as far as vintage electronic pop experimentation goes. Even by today's standards the track sounds resolutely futuristic, making for a perfect starting point. Next up, Area Code 615's insanely well-produced, multi-faceted instrumental 'Devil Weed And Me' kicks in, which is a real prog-funk marathon packed into four-and-a-half minutes. Vintage material like Holger Czukay's 'Cool In The Pool' sounds very much at home alongside the contemporary dancefloor soul of Bjorn Torske and Lindstrom, and there are even more contemporary selections from Soylent Green and Boards Of Canada before the first disc draws to a close on the synth psych-rock of Hawkwind's 'City Of Lagoons'. Insert disc two and you'll be greeted by another mixed bag of disco-friendly fare. Kicking off with old-school funk from Visnadi, Uusi Fantasia and Bob James, the selections take a turn towards the more contemporary with Isolee remixing Recloose's 'Cardiology' and Closer Muzik's awesome 'Maria' making very welcome appearances. Zombi's 'Sapphire' seems to marry old with new perfectly, sounding like an updated Jean-Michel Jarre composition. Delving further into Prins Thomas' crates, the compilation arrives at a final phase of classics including Tres Demented's 'She'z Satan', The Paper Dolls' 'Get Down Boy' and Parliament's 'Night Of The Thumpasorus Peoples'. A tremendous DJ set of its kind, and of epic proportions too. in boomkat [Para Ouvir]

o que me agrada bastante neste exercício sonoro é a subtileza com que o "pinscipezinho" delineou em jeito de elegancia este registo dançante em torno do disko... recomenda-se :)
