Kondaktor - M.U. Podcast 66#

Kondaktor aka George Papageorgopoulos has been crafting the decks for almost a decade establishing himself as a prominent figure in the Athenian party scene. His dj sets vary: from deeply techno to sleazy, dirty and funky; from comfortably dark and ambient to uncomfortably sensual and grimmy. He enjoys mixing different styles and trying different sounds each time: from industrial techno to chicago house and back. In the record label that he co-owns, "Modal Analysis", the releases are a blend of modern techno with experimental approach in order to promote the new sophisticated sound coming from Greece. The label's gloomy aesthetic examines the structural impact of sound within space. In the end of 2012 he made his debut release as a music producer with a cassette at the Seattle based Further Records under the alias of Kondaktor: the maestro that controls the musician's performance and manipulates the feelings of the crowds. Kondaktor's distorted approach enhance a mix of experimental tonalities that resemble those coming from a concrete mysterious setting, with electroacoustic influences, build in a low-fi aesthetic. In actual spaces, he has been organizing the "Reform" party series in Athens along with fellow DJs and he has recorded vocals for several different projects. [Download M.U. Podcast 66 #]

STITCHED VISION | Headland

STITCHED VISION-  Headland (Blwbck) After a serie of fascinating tapes released through his own record label Eternal Solitude, the australian solo-artist Jason Campbell returns with “Headland”, a 40 minutes long tape, filled with his typical square-waves arpeggiators, black but blissed-out melodies pouring into a warm ocean of synthscapes. On “Headland” melodies are less understated than usual, and if there’s still many layers of white noises, they are changed into a chanting foam, reinforcing the ambivalence of his sad but beautiful noise-ambient. This permanent duality makes Stitched Vision immediately recognizable, evoking simultaneously panoramic views and deep solitude, intense moroseness and exalted feelings, piercing your heart while caressing your head. Simply addictive and essential as his entire discography. Music & Art Direction by Jason Campbell Recorded in Newcastle, Australia 2011-2013 http://stitchedvision.blogspot.com . via Blwbck

September Equinox

The 2013 September equinox comes on September 22, at 3:44 p.m. CDT (20:44 UTC). In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is rising later now, and nightfall comes sooner. This is our autumn equinox, when the days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. At this equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length. For us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway. South of the equator, spring begins. read more

Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group - Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group

Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group - Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group (Sun Ark) The Celebrate Music Synthesiser Group LP documents the eponymous gang of Butchy Fuego (Boredoms), M. Geddes Gengras, and Sun Araw's Cameron Stallones "spice-hunting" at Rotterdam's legendary synth archive, The Worm. Recording straight to two-track tape, and filmed by Tony Lowe, the trio plugged in and jammed out the nine cuts of wired abstraction and motorik krautrock rhythms found inside this LP. The results dissolve their respective egos into one fruity electronic soup of alien bleeps and strange, inimitably lush dissonance fizzing with mutant energy. On the first plate they jack up the frothy techno of 'Warung Mini' beside the crooked, wayward Ekoplekz styles of 'Millions Of Deckaliters' and the blunt , screwy chug of 'Worm = Spice", among others, whilst the 2nd plate documents them at their most expansive, attuned, on the refractive 20 minute locomotion of 'Worm Sign CMSG Suite', and finish with a labyrinthine trio of morphing modular misshapes. in boomkat

Moin (raime) - EP

Moin - EP (Blackest Ever Black) So, the cat's out the bag; Raime are Moin, who dropped an amazing side on that Confessions split with Pete Swanson last year. Here they return to that captivating sound on BEB proper with three tracks of lean guitar, muscular bass and cracking drums optimised and arranged with effects and sequencer. The project is evidently in tribute to that whole other side of their combined tastes, the one that looks to Steve Albini's Rapeman, Bill Laswell, This Heat or Dylan Carlson for inspiration, rather than Photek or Shackleton. Yet, just like Raime, everything is perfectly measured and economical, mixed with cutting precision and spatial dynamics, and most of all, built to last with a craftsman's appreciation of tone, texture and shape. A-side features the taut exorcism of 'Murphy', with its spare but shocking exhortations and collar-straining drums, plus the wrenched guitar strikes and post-punk bass prods of 'Stacie', laced with cryptic, ritual Japanese vocal stabs. Flipside, 'Clancy' is the one; snares slice thru the mix like skinny knuckles to the temple and guitars are hacked with metal-tipped fingers into clouds of aching black feedback harmonics. in boomkat

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA x CONVERSE PACK

Converse has hooked up with French fashion boffins Maison Martin Margiela for an ice cream paint job colab on the Jack Purcell and Chuck Taylor All Star. The triple M team took four colourways with red, black, navy and vintage yellow bases and dipped them in Margiela’s famed bright white paint all over. Over time, the paint cracks revealing the base colour – it’s interesting stuff. The collection will drop this month at Margiela stores and select Converse First String retailers. News via Nike, INC.
