Pavel Milyakov’s ´Entropic Vision´ showcases his extraordinary ability to traverse a broad sonic spectrum, weaving together rave techno, ambient, shoegaze, and downbeat influences into a cohesive yet emotionally nuanced tapestry. Known for his prolific output since 2016, Milyakov has increasingly embraced collaboration, and this latest release highlights his mastery of integrating diverse voices while maintaining a deeply personal, melancholic undertone across its varied styles.
The album’s collaborative spirit shines in tracks like "Moon Chant", where sound artist Martyna Basta’s ethereal choral tones flicker against the midnight gloom, forming an almost duet-like interplay with Milyakov’s psych-inflected guitar. This seamless partnership flows into "The Thrill", a slowcore/shoegaze ballad that cradles Yana Pavlova’s dusky vocals in a cushion of atmospheric instrumentation. Dutch trance veteran Torus rekindles the emotive energy of previous collaborations on Eternal Break, a euphoric breakbeat trance track. At the same time, Richie Culver adds shadowy textures to the Burial-esque "Tesco" and the moody dark garage piece "Drifting Off".
Milyakov’s solo ventures are equally compelling, with "Gabba-17" offering a lush rush of negative ecstasy that vividly evokes the disorienting thrill of losing oneself in a pulsating crowd. Across all tracks, the album balances contrasting elements_ecstasy and melancholy, density and openness-with remarkable dexterity.
With ´Entropic Vision´, Milyakov delivers a deeply affecting and immersive experience, solidifying his reputation as an artist who thrives on: both emotional resonance and genre-defying innovation. Highly Recommended!
