THE SIMONSOUND - Reverse Engineering

THE SIMONSOUND - Reverse Engineering (First Word) Comentários: The Simonsound is a sonic collaboration between Simon James and Matt Ford aka DJ Format. 'Reverse Engineering' is their tribute to 50s and 60s "space music" (the sort of Moog and theremin saturated music espoused by Raymond Scott, The Radiophonic Workshop et al) mixed with a mature B-Boy's sense of intrepid exploration beyond the annals of funk and soul. We can find analogs for this style in the madcap mixes of Finders Keeper's Andy Votel and Dom Thomas or more accurately the orchestrations of Barry Adamson, reflected in The Simonsound focus on original productions using an array of vintage equipment. Opener, and previous single, 'Tour De Mars' is a bit of a peach, recreating a Kraftwerk classic with psyche drum breaks and Moog washes, while elsewhere they cycle between soundtracky scapes 'Inside The Capsule', moody spy-funk 'Hole In The Head', bloopy exercises like 'Bakers Dozen', abstract martian floaters, and submerged jazz torch songs like 'Between the Wake and the Sleep'. Ace. in boomkat [Para Ouvir/Samples]
