M.U. PODCAST #132: EMRA GRID (AUGUST 2022)

Emra Grid (Sean Piñeiro) Dark ambient producer and multi-instrumentalist first appeared with his acclaimed debut EP: The Same Face on Opal Tapes in 2016. Since then he has been releasing a steady yet powerful stream of music that has subtly evolved with every release. His sound infuses dark industrial distortion with a dense harmonic pallet, creating a style both serene and ominous. Emra Grid’s style embodies a constant contrast between suspense and nostalgic warmth. His music ranges from drone to ambient to the outer limits of sound design but is always marked with a characteristic quality of personal content. His latest release ‘Extended Preservation’ (out on Schematic Music Company) elicits a timeless dystopia, with each echoing track adding dimension to an ethereal maze.

About the mix: My Mix for Mundo Urbano is all about breaks and electro. I wanted to highlight some artists that I have really enjoyed over the last few years. There are also a few Emra Grid tunes in there, hinting at a forthcoming release with BIV, a label that is like family to me. Three good friends, Alberto (Sacromonte) Alberto (Al Pagoda), and Aitor (Airaboi). Thanks for listening - Emra.
