Tokion’s Revisionaries Out Now!
Art, like history, has been revised a million times over, by artists and critics, audiences and collectors and everyone else that has come into contact with art. Sometimes it’s necessary to revise–when things get bad, or even just cliché, a new way of seeing things must arise. Tokion has consistently attempted to work with artists that see the problems with a new outlook, and work hard for change. This is what makes our first book, Revisionaries, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., so special. We here at Tokion are mighty proud to announce that Revisionaries: A Decade of Art in Tokion is at all fine booksellers now. We’ve gathered together 82 (!) of our favorite artists who we’ve worked with over the past ten years–artists like Ryan McGinness, Swoon, Andrew Jeffery Wright, Chris Johanson, Elisabeth Arkhipoff, David Shrigley, Marcel Dzama, Os Gemeos, Tomoo Gokita and Paper Rad–and cataloged them into one exciting collection of the artists’ stunning works and short interviews with them. The book reads like a yearbook of artists who we’re proud to consider friends of Tokion. [Oficial Site]
